Introductions All Round

I thought it would be nice to have a log of all the stuff we were doing as we set up our Cichlid tank and the stuff we were going through with our other smaller tank.
So first up is our AquaSerene tank.
It currently houses our collection of Bristlenoses- 2 Albino, 2 Marbled, 2 Standard all under 2 inches.
Also in there are 2 Pakistani Loaches, 3 Clown Loaches and 4 Kuhli Loaches.
We just moved the 3 Golden Gouramis out so they had some room into the Cichlid tank (doesn't have Cichlids in it atm so don't panic).
I don't know about other people but I always name my pets. So far we have Mr Bossy (the big boy gourami), Lady (the large female gourami) and Little One (the, as yet, undecided gourami).
The Clown Loaches have been named Rebo, Zooti and Boffo.
Only two of the normal Bristlenoses have been named so far- Midget and Milli, the other bristlenoses have defaulted to "one of the marbles" and "one of the albinos" as we see them.
None of the Kuhli's have names yet but they seem to have a snake pit under one of our plant pods (the one with the "treasure chest").
The small tank definitely has a fun theme in it with the treasure chest pod and a fairy castle whilst the other "serious" tank which is a 48"x18"x18" is going to house our Cichlid community.

We had a discussion about starting a reef tank but I think my partner needs to catch up on the whole aquarium starting process as he has never had any aquarium experience until a month ago. I on the other hand have had goldfish, angelfish, pearl gourami, guppies, Oscars and Koi.

We bought our big tank and all the bits for it from Aquarium City in Bayswater and even though it had changed hands a couple of times since I first went there when I was 15, the people there are very nice and helpful.
The fish we have gotten from a number of places around us.
If you live in or around Forrestfield in WA the White Star Deli has some very nice fish.
The Bird and Fish Place in Wattle Grove is undergoing some moves about the place and so technically the fish section is closed, but you can get in there and have a look around even though they are down to a bare minimum of 3 rows of tanks for tropicals and a single row of marine tanks. Prices seem to be fairly standard for Perth possibly slightly cheaper as when we picked up our Black Kuhli's from there we got 4 for $8 and the Pakistani's were 2 for $18.
One of the other places we have gotten fish from is a little place in Midvale near Midland called Rovers Retreat cnr Farrall Rd and Gt. Eastern Hwy which has a small but well cared for display of coldwater, brackish and tropical fish. The fish are reasonably priced and there are some decent larger fish for moderate prices.
4hrs later...
We went to Aquotix today to look at their fish and as usual our 'looking' expeditions turn out to be purchase expeditions- we now have 2 beautiful Pictus Catfish added to the collection. Thank you Rob for putting us on to this place which is Cichlid and catfish heaven.
